Sunny Avalon Saturday
Even though I am only a stones throw away Avalon on the Northern Beaches, I ventured there last Saturday to make the most of what I hoped would be a sunny day. Avalon is such a chilled place with great cafes and stylish boutiques, so if you are looking for a relaxing day there is an abundance of things to keep you occupied without raising the stress levels.

I spent the morning having breakfast with friends at The Healthy Chef Cafe, located on Avalon Parade. Having a few food allergies & the fact that I seem to attract friends with them also this cafe is great, they cater for dairy free, gluten free, wheat free, low carb, high protein, sugar free, vegan, raw and detoxing and they are just all round healthy (hence the name). In saying this though I have to say I love the food here and by no means is it any less tasty than other cafes I have visited. Their food mantra is inspire, nourish, delight and they do this through the simple principles of balance and moderation. With a great atmosphere and friendly staff it was a really nice way to start our day.

After a few hours soaking up the sun at the beach we walked through Avalon’s streets, visiting its many boutiques and quaint stores until we came across the new Mark Tuckey store. Its exterior is funky and vibrant mixed with a cool coastal feel, while once inside you find your self fascinated with all the home wares and knick knacks. Stocked with local designs, we spent at least half an hour just pouring over the displays.
