Small Apartment Inspiration

Just a quick entry today, but lots of photos!  This gorgeous apartment in Sweden is home to a young family, their incredible apartment uses clever storage to maximise their space & they have created a lovely bright airy feel throughout that is still homely and cosy.  Some great storage ideas in here, and its just so darned bright and cute! Enjoy!

White floors, wall, windows, ceiling, window frames & full length curtains give the whole space a lovely open, bright, airy feel, ideal for small apartments.

The wallpaper creates a unique & modern feature wall, the grey and white combination is also modern & the greys warm up the space.  An extra tall bookcase adds plenty of book storage.

The extra ottomans and armchairs around the room help make the space feel full without being overcrowded, they also provide handy extra seating for their kids, and when guests come around.  The hanging cabinet in white almost blends right into the wall, it offers concealed storage and creates a shelf for a quirky display on top.  (We have a similar option to these at Beyond Furniture – the Genova hanging cabinets can be used in the same way and are ideal for storing CD’s DVD’s discreetly!)

There is concealed storage every which way! In this case the headboard offers concealed storage for books & bedside items.  The simple palette of black and white is neat & modern for the parents room.

Glass door cabinets are fantastic when you want to make a feature of treasured items, it keeps small children out as well as dust!

The childrens room follows the theme of the rest of the house, with some child appropriate touches! The floating shelves make perfect desks.

Along one wall of the childrens room is another highly functional storage unit, with open shelving at the bottom for the kids toys.

A functional workspace has been integrated into the hallway, again using hanging cabinets and a long slim desk and bench seat.  A great idea for homes that need a study space but don’t have a designated area! The full height mirror attached to the wall also helps reflect the doorways creating the impression of more space, as well as acting as the homes main mirror!

The tiny bathroom also maximises storage with a slim vanity and mirror storage.  The wet room style bathroom is still luxurious despite its small size due to the tile selection.  Note that the use of the large tiles covering the wall help the bathroom to feel bigger!
