Living Room Style With Happy Interior Blog
This week we spotted the comfortable and modern BoConcept Arco sofa on the Happy Interior Blog, and it belongs to the blogger himself! Igor created this platform to communicate everything that inspires him for ‘a happy home’. It could be ‘a colourful illustration, a quirky vase, an eye-catching cushion, or a fresh bunch of flowers – small things maker me happy’ he says. In this post he writes about painting his pitched roof walls, and painting another feature wall in grey. One things for sure, Igor knows his colour palette. We see here in his living room how he plays with varying shades of grey to maximise the drama in this small space. The cool paint colours reflect brilliantly against the warm tones of the wood flooring. He’s introduced minimal decorations and accessories to keep the focus on the wall colour, and the larger furnishings in the room – including our beautiful Arco sofa. The sofa has been upholstered in a dark grey Frisco fabric, complimenting the rest of the room perfectly.
Igor has paired the BoConcept Arco sofa with a black and white chevron rug, a retro inspired coffee table and a few decorative elements, including a ‘La Lune’ poster, a small disco ball and some light coloured cushions. For the pitched walls, he used the velvety and dark ‘Down Pipe’ paint, and for the feature wall he used the smooth and light ‘Plummet’, both by Farrow & Ball. Igor explains that he ‘wanted to create visual depth when you enter the apartment’. Depending on the light situation, the effects of the wall colour changes with it – from brighter tones to velvety dark ones. I love the simplicity of this room, however there are elements that make it very visually appealing, such as patterned rug and the poster that sits above the sofa.
Despite being a very small apartment, Igor has successfully created a great visual effect and drama without creating a feeling of visual constriction. It’s clever idea to keep all the central elements to one colour group, and then to add in both metallic and lighter hues afterwards to break the palette up a bit. The Arco sofa works in small living spaces perfectly, and the style is easily adaptable to different living styles … from something a little vintage and retro inspired, to something completely contemporary and trendy. The delicate details, such as the characteristic piping and curvy armrests, give it that extra style and luxuriousness. Both its soft fabric upholstery and rounded shape make it extremely comfortable … it’s the ideal sofa to curl up onto!
