Tribe Studio
Tribe Studio, a Sydney based design studio specialising in residential architecture. I adore their sensitivity and celebration of typically Australian architecture, I came across some images of the ‘House Savas Monaco’ whilst reading an American based blog (desire to inspire) and immediately picked it as inner city Sydney, as did other readers with comments on the blog entry such as
“Wow! I got such an immediate Australian flavour from these spaces – I absolutely adore it! Just beautiful… but also a bit of a blank canvas for all the beautiful things I would love to place in these spaces. *Dreaming*”

Their philosophy is based around ESD principles & site specific solutions with a strong emphasis on client requirements, with each home a reflection of its home owners & their interests.

Where old meets new out the back, contrasting styles yet the new addition is sympathetic to the original building
The design of this house was based around adaptibility with doors used to offer various functions as required, such as concealing a TV, or being moved to protect a room from the hot sun.
This home in Surry Hills is nicknamed by the owners the ‘crackden’ due to its run down state prior to the renovation. It is now a bright and fresh family home built around a courtyard.
The renovation was completed on a modest budget, with a focus on allowing light to flow in, and creating joinery for all the young family’s stuff
