A Fashion Blogger’s Stay At Adge Apartments

With the passing of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Australia, we’ve seen plenty of fashion bloggers posting about their experiences. Catwalk of Words is Alice McGennis-Destro’s blog, a Melbourne-based fashion and beauty journalist. Holding an MA in Communication, Alice works for L’Oreal Australia while blogging at the same time. Last week she stayed in the super contemporary and bold ADGE Boutique Apartment Hotel in Sydney during fashion week. Here’s what she had to say about the hotel, “You may already know I have a soft spot for quirky prints and bright colours, so you could imagine my excitement when I first took a glimpse at the rainbow floor inside our city viewing apartment- unreal! Complete with a smeg fridge, a cartoon mural in the foyer and coconuts on arrival, I knew instantly that this hotel was a rare gem.” Well, we were lucky enough to fit out the apartments! ADGE Hotel contacted us and asked us to help them select some appropriate Beyond Furniture pieces to suit their style.

Located in the trendy suburb of Surry Hills, the hotel is a quick walk from some amazing restaurants, bars and cafes. To suit the style of this buzzing and eclectic suburb, the hotel has successfully combined urban adventure and daredevil design. The ADGE hotel set out to create something different, with the hotel’s motif ‘dare to be different’ represented in many ways across every aspect of the business, including on the bedroom pillows.

Perfect for a working holiday, Alice was sitting sky high between fashion shows and appointments at the Sienna dining table complemented by the comfortable Oltre chairs in glossy white. To tone down the bold and patterned carpet seen throughout the hotel, our sales consultant Emma opted for some clean and contemporary pieces in neutral tones, while still considering their brief for contemporary, urban and cutting edge style.

Not only did the furniture have to be stylish, but it had to fit the bill more durable, practical furnishings as required by a hotel. Other Beyond Furniture pieces seen throughout the apartments include the Olivia side table in glossy white, Astrati console table, Basso TV unit in glossy dark grey and the Contempo mirror in the living rooms.
